Agreement to these terms

Consumer AI Safety, available at aisafetyindex.com, is operated by Prosaic Intelligence (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the website, including its AI Safety Index, research, methodology, charts, and downloads (collectively, the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using it. You must have the legal capacity to accept these terms; if you act for an organization, you must be authorized to bind it. Any separate written agreement with us controls where it expressly conflicts with these terms.

Our research and evaluations

Prosaic Intelligence publishes evaluations of AI model behavior and comparative safety research. Results depend on the benchmark, selected metric, model version, provider, reasoning settings, and other conditions described in the applicable methodology. Results from an API configuration may differ from the behavior of a consumer application. An index combines selected measurements using stated normalization and weighting rules; those choices affect the comparison. Missing coverage is not evidence of safety. A publication date identifies a dataset release and does not necessarily identify when every underlying evaluation was run.

No safety certification or professional advice

Scores and rankings describe performance within the evaluations covered. They do not certify a model as safe, suitable for a particular person, or compliant with any law or standard. A higher score cannot rule out harmful responses or predict every future interaction. Content is supplied for general information and research, not as medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice. You are responsible for assessing a product for your circumstances and obtaining qualified advice where needed. Naming or comparing a product does not endorse it or establish a relationship with its provider.

Permission to use and share

You may browse, link to, quote reasonable excerpts from, and share our published charts and downloadable results for personal, research, educational, journalistic, and internal business purposes. Credit Prosaic Intelligence, link to the relevant source page, and retain the publication date, methodology references, and material qualifications. Clearly identify your own modifications and analysis. Do not present an incomplete comparison as a comprehensive finding, remove limitations in a misleading way, or imply our approval of your product. Separate licenses attached to code, datasets, or other materials govern those materials. These terms do not restrict uses independently permitted by law. Other republication or resale of our protected content requires our written permission.

Acceptable use

Use the Site lawfully and respect the rights of others. Do not interfere with its operation, introduce malicious code, impersonate another person, seek unauthorized access, or bypass access controls or rate limits. Do not use automated requests in a way that disrupts availability or collects personal information about visitors. Public search engines may index public pages in accordance with our robots.txt instructions. Access through any download or public interface remains subject to the limits and licenses stated for it. Reporting an error, criticizing our methods, and publishing independent research are permitted.

Ownership and third-party materials

We and our licensors retain rights in our original writing, visual designs, software, and other protected Site materials. Access does not transfer ownership or grant rights beyond those stated here or in a separate license. Benchmark papers, datasets, model names, and product logos may belong to third parties and remain subject to their own rights and licenses. We do not grant permission to reuse material we do not control. Links to external research, products, and websites are provided as references; we do not control those services, their content, or their terms.

Feedback and submissions

If you send a correction, suggestion, or research contribution, provide only material you are entitled to share. You retain ownership of your submission and give us a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to review and use it to investigate the issue and improve the Site. This permission does not authorize publication of your personal contact details. Do not send confidential information without a separate agreement with us. Personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Corrections and availability

Evaluation methods, source materials, and AI products change. Our work may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information, and we may revise or withdraw results when evidence or methodology changes. Consult the applicable methodology and release information before relying on a comparison. We may change, suspend, or discontinue Site features and may restrict access to address misuse, security concerns, or legal requirements. We do not promise continuous availability, a particular update schedule, or ongoing support for any download or interface.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. We do not warrant that content is complete, accurate, current, or error-free, that access will be uninterrupted or secure, or that any evaluated product will behave as a score suggests. You remain responsible for decisions you make using this information. Statutory guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded remain in effect.

Limitations of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Prosaic Intelligence and its contributors and licensors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of, or inability to use, the Site, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, even if such losses were foreseeable. We do not accept responsibility for the independent acts or outputs of third-party AI providers. Nothing here excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit. These limitations apply only to the extent lawful in your jurisdiction.

Disputes and your legal rights

If a concern arises, we encourage you to raise it with us so we can seek a practical resolution. Doing so is not a condition of bringing a claim and does not suspend any filing deadline. These terms do not require arbitration or waive your right to bring a claim in a court with jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer protections and other rights that cannot be waived by contract continue to apply.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the Site develops. We will update the revision date on this page and provide a prominent notice on the Site for material changes, stating when they take effect. Changes apply prospectively. Your continued use after revised terms take effect indicates acceptance to the extent permitted by law. If you disagree with revised terms, stop using the Site.

General provisions

These terms, together with any applicable separate license or written agreement, describe the agreement for your use of the Site. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a provision does not waive it. You may stop using the Site at any time. Provisions concerning ownership, permitted reuse, disclaimers, liability, and accrued rights continue to apply where relevant after your use ends.
